MASKS ARE BACK IN HEALTHCARE
After months of ACE members organizing protests, public comments at County Supervisor and Public Health Commission meetings, over 14,000 letters, and thousands of phone calls — on Dec 29th, The ACE Coalition successfully brought back mask requirements in healthcare settings!

ACE is a community-led coalition that’s building collective power to protect every member of our communities. We are taking action and demanding health care that is equitable now.
KEEP MASKS IN HEALTHCARE
Removing masks in healthcare is dangerous. Clinics and hospitals are sites for all kinds of healthcare, including Covid patient care. This means that even when Sars-Cov-2 transmission rates are low, healthcare settings will remain hotbeds for Covid, since the virus travels through air like smoke.
Right now, the absence of masks in medical facilities is a huge issue. Non-masking is making these essential places inaccessible to patients vulnerable to severe disease or death from Covid, and even folks who aren’t considered “high risk” per the CDC’s definition are acquiring Covid in healthcare settings — with many of those infections leading to death or long-term disability in the form of post-acute sequelae of SARS CoV-2 infection (PASC, aka Long Covid).
The good news is decades of science have proven that masks prevent the spread of airborne diseases like Covid! So every week, we’re taking to the streets to keep masks in healthcare.
